Thiruvottiyur Boxing Academy joins hands with Tamil Nadu state Boxing Association to conduct junior and senior state boxing tournament.

Thiruvottiyur boxing academy is showing tremendous interest in training young burgeoning talent and making them mentally and physically powerful. The dynamism of boxing is redefined in this academy for the last 20years under the eagle eyes of well experienced coaches V. Lokeshand and V. Sathesh. In the process, good talented boxers have got placed in government jobs like railways, police department, army etc.

Synopsis of 2011 tournament

In 2011, state boxing championship for seniors was conducted where 250 boxers from all districts of Tamil Nadu participated. The event was graced by luminaries, including a lengthy list that comprises of Honorable Members of Legislative Assembly, former Boxing Champions, and Sports Personalities. Extensive media coverage was also afforded.

INDEPENDENCE DAY TOURNAMENT 2012 STATE BOXING FOR JUNIORS & SENIORS

The boxing competition is slated to be held on 17.08.2012 to 19.08.2012. The Honorable Speaker of Tamil Nadu assembly, an ardent sports lover himself, has consented to inaugurate the boxing competition. The inauguration event will also be attended by Honorable Members of Legislative Assembly, former Boxing Champions, Sports Personalities and Film Stars.

This is an effort expended by Thiruvottiyur Boxing Academy to nurture and build boxing talent in Tamil Nadu state. The Academy is going all out to romp in participants from various corners of the state, and has taken efforts to meet all prerequisites well before the event gets staged.

This will be the second time when Thiruvottiyur Boxing Academy will become a proud host of Junior and Senior Boxing Championships, with young and energetic boxers from across the state taking part in this boxing competition. This year we have invited glittering personalities and media houses to participate and make the event a grand success.

It is pertinent to state that wide coverage through Media, Print Medium, Local Cable TV Ads, Hoardings, Bus Backs, and Banners has set the tone for an interesting event.

The expected budget for the tournament is around Rs.3, 50,000/-. Such events require substantial support and assistance from sports promoting business houses and individuals, in order to make this event a grand success.
